After witnessing a horrible plane crash, Tintin attempts to investigate further and offer his help. Suddenly he is shot by an armed man who appears to have also shot down the plane. Later, he is intertwined into a crime he never committed, and Tintin finds himself being hunted by both the authorities and ruthless criminals determined to silence him once and for all. His journey will take him from land to sea, where there is conflict waiting to happen at every turn. The more he finds out, the more he realizes that The Black Island holds secrets far more dangerous than anyone could imagine.

This short, 62-page graphic novel is a non-stop thrill ride filled with miraculous escapes, nail-biting suspense, and, most importantly, humor - the perfect mix for an entertaining Tintin adventure. The tension never eases off and the numerous encounters with the dangerous criminals make it an unforgettable read. The plot is easy to understand and the attention to detail that Hergé puts into every page is simply excellent. This is a classic detective-style adventure and easily earns a five out of five.
