Act Your Age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert

Eve doesn’t have many responsibilities - a generous trust fund and her home at her parent’s house means she can safely hop from job to job, avoiding failure and responsibility at every turn. That is, until her parents drop her trust fund payments to zero and stage an intervention, decisively informing her she must hold a job for at least a year if she wants the money back. Eve drives miles away in a rage, and finds herself at a quaint bed and breakfast. She takes the sign on the door advertising a chef position as fate - she’s always been a rather good cook. When she walks in the door, she meets the demanding but desperate B&B owner Jacob. And he just so happens to be devilishly handsome with a cutting sense of humor and a complete lack of desire to hire her. But somehow she gets the job, and the close quarters just might change his feelings about her. I liked this book and it definitely held my interest but I think that the previous installment in the series was much better and I found the characters much more charming - I didn’t get the impression that I would be annoyed by them in real life as in this book. I do appreciate the originality in aspects of the plot as I think that romance novels tend to get pretty repetitive from time to time. I would give it three stars.
