All of Us Villains is book one in the fantasy series written by Amanda Foody and C.L. Herman. Seven of the most influential families in Ilvernath, a small town with a secret to hide, send one champion, a teenager, into a death tournament every twenty years. The families are competing for high magic, the most powerful and uncommon resource left in the world. For hundreds of generations, these families have kept much of the truth of the tournament a secret. That is until a mysterious book comes out that reveals the secrets behind the tournament. With the new book shining a spotlight on the tournament, the next generation of champions faces more pressure than before, when the secrecy of the tournament protected them. The book hasn’t been all bad, though. It has allowed the next round of champions more insight into the history of the tournament than ever before, and it leads them to wonder if maybe they can change the tournament and find another way to survive.
I really liked reading this book. I enjoy fantasy books, especially fantasy series where I feel like I really get to know the characters. This book is told from the perspectives of four of the seven champions. I like books from multiple perspectives because I like getting to see different sides of the story through different characters' eyes. One of the things I liked most about this book is all the twists and turns along the way. It was very fast-paced, and relations between the characters were constantly changing. All the twists and turns made it hard to know which characters to root for, adding to the excitement of the book. I really enjoyed reading this book, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes a good fantasy series.
