Jane Marlow grew up among the staff of LA rock producer Mad Dog. Every summer, Jane and her father head to the Sierras to work at the producer’s luxury lodge at Lake Condor which is the site of the biggest music festival. The Sarafians are the family that runs the festival and Jane has had a crush on the oldest son Eddie for years. But Jane’s feelings about Eddie are tested when she reconnects with his brother, the dark horse of her summer plans.
I enjoyed this book I thought the romance between Fen and Jane was palpable and Bennett did a great job of making the book realistic. At first I found Fen’s passion a little disturbing because it was so overwhelming but as the book went on he grew on me. I liked how the cover depicted Jane and Fen because it helped me put a face to the characters and their descriptions. I think the cover reflected the contents of the novel because the novel is about the romance between Fen and Jane which is depicted on the cover. The most compelling aspect of the book would be the romance which I seriously enjoyed. I think Bennett did a good job of blending together romance, banter, commentary, and humor in this book. Honestly, I don't think there was anything disappointing about the book, I seriously enjoyed it.
