Andrew Garfield plays Peter Parker (Spider-Man) in Mark Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man, made in 2012. In this reboot, after getting bitten by a genetically modied spider, Peter Parker builds a relationship with his father’s former colleague, Dr. Curt Conners (Rhys Ifans), and helps him with a project. This would have dire consequences as Peter learns what it means to truly be Spider-Man.
This was a joy to watch. Mark Webb’s different approach to the web head definitely works. It makes this movie necessary and different from the Raimi trilogy. This film dives more into the mystery of the disappearance of Parker’s parents and the extra plot point does not overload the movie at all. The run time is comfortable at 2 hours 16 minutes and the story is well balanced and the swinging scenes are 100% and are definitely a highlight of the series. I would recommend this movie to people just getting into comic movies. I wish this movie would have tied up loose ends that it introduced in the beginning, some plot points/characters are completely dropped after the 1st act. I would give this movie a 3.8/5. Definitely worth a watch.
