Anna Karenina is a masterpiece of 19th-century Russian literature that talks about love, marriage, and societal expectations. Tolstoy's novel brings together multiple storylines, focusing on the affair between Anna Karenina and Count Vronsky. Anna, a married aristocrat, begins a passionate affair with the young Count Vronsky. This relationship leads to her social downfall, the loss of her son, and ultimately her tragic end. The affair challenges societal norms and explores themes of love versus societal expectations. The parallel storyline of Levin and Kitty provides a counterpoint to Anna's story, showing themes of faith, purpose and rural life in Russia. Levin, a landowner, loves Kitty Shcherbatsky (who initially rejects him for Vronsky). His storyline focuses on his search for meaning in life and his eventual marriage to Kitty.

I really enjoyed reading this book because it had multiple different stories that were all connected which is very different from others novels. I love how this book is rich and detailed, painting a vivid picture of Russian society across many social classes. The themes of human nature and relationships remain remarkably relevant even to this day. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys classic novels and twisted storylines because it is an amazing combination of the two.
