Archenemies, the second book in the Renegades series, is a continuation of Nova Artino’s double life as Insomnia and Nightmare. Now knowing that her uncle is alive rather than killed as she thought him to be, Nova has become a part of a plan that has been hatched for Ace Anarchy and the Anarchists to come to power again. Her best advantage was faking her death as Nightmare in the previous book, allowing her to lay under the radar to work with the other  villains and Ace to figure out how to steal Ace’s famed helmet back from Renegade headquarters. Nova is still posing as a Renegade, and growing increasingly attached to Adrian and his family, which makes her rebellion hard to follow through with. Another roadblock for her plans is the Sentinel, an unidentified vigilante that is Adrian himself, but he will not give up his secret identity. With the Renegades cracking down on villainy with a new weapon, Nova must hurry to help her uncle before the Renegades become too powerful for their own good.

Once again, I think that the overall idea and storyline of this book is awesome because of the attention to detail in each character and how they play into the story. The ending of the book was a cliffhanger that made the story even more intense and pressure filled, which was a great lead up into the last book. I do think there were some slow parts, but they didn’t make the story unenjoyable. Because of the plot development and how quickly I wanted to read this, I would give it 4 out of 5 stars.
