Archer's Voice by Mia Sheridan is a unique story that highlights the recovery of trauma and vulnerability. This small-town fiction follows Bree Prescott, who moved out of her hometown and is now settled in Pelion, Maine, where she is looking for a quiet new life away from her tragedy. She crosses paths with a mysterious and handsome man, Archer Hale. Who is known to not be able to speak due to an accident. Their story follows a battle of trust with each other, and with themselves after recovering from their own individual traumas.
As much as Archer became a beloved character in my mind, the writing of this book did not interest me. The sweetness was a pleasurable addition to this book, but I would personally not read this again because of the amount of “cringe” moments that I felt reading this. However, I would recommend this book for a contemporary reader lover, and also fans of a nice slow burn. I rate this book 3 stars.
