In the newest book in The Hunger Games series, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, we dive into the world of Coriolanus or President Snow’s past. To redeem his family name and secure a scholarship at the university, Snow gets pulled into mentoring Lucy Gray Baird, a female tribute from district 12 in the 10th hunger games. Throughout the book Snow starts to develop feelings for Lucy, which collides with his ambition to restore his family name and to receive the scholarship. Snow uses manipulation and betrayal in the book to clear the way for his rise to power.

I personally loved this book because I have always wondered what Snows past was like, and it was very interesting to see what one of the first Hunger Games was like. I would definitely recommend this book to teens and people who loved the books in the series before this. So, check out The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes now!
