In The Chalice of the Gods by Rick Riordan, Percy just wants a peaceful life and a normal senior year, especially after saving the world multiple times since he was 12. Percy wants to attend college, and the same one as his girlfriend, Annabeth. As Percy prepares for next year, he is less than thrilled to discover that he must obtain recommendation letters from Mount Olympus through completing quests for the gods. Percy takes on a quest for the god Ganymede, who has lost his chalice that he uses to serve the gods. Percy needs to retrieve his chalice quickly, as there is an event coming up where Ganymede will need it. Percy takes his two partners in crime, Annabeth and his satyr best friend, Grover to help him find the lost possession. It is up to these three to find the chalice, and for Percy to return it in exchange for his letter.
As a huge fan of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, as well as The Heroes of Olympus, I loved seeing a new addition to the Percy Jackson universe. Riordan never fails to create a fun, action-packed storyline. It was enjoyable to see how Percy handles his senior year and college through another quest. I also enjoyed having the original trio of Percy, Annabeth, and Grover back together. Any Percy Jackson or mythology fans would love this book!
