Charlie Hernandez, a cultured 12 year old, has grown up hearing Hispanic and Latino mythology from his grandmother for as long as he can remember. He loved listening to the myths, but little did he know how important they would prove to be. After a fire destroys Charlie’s house and his parents go missing, strange manifestations begin to appear. Charlie grows horns and sprouts feathers. He is reminded of some of his grandmother’s myths about a Morphling. He works to hide these oddities while looking for answers as to his parents’ whereabouts. As Charlie begins to find his parents, aided by his friend Violet Rey, they uncover dark truths that give meaning to his grandmother’s stories and change his life forever.
