Circe is about a lesser goddess named Circe who discovers her strength in a world full of powerful gods. She meets plenty of famous characters from Greek mythology and she learns important lessons about love, trust, and how to manage her powers. Throughout the book, Circe searches for a place where she belongs in this world full of monsters. While this book may start off a little slow, it more than makes up for it in the rich character development and interesting take on a previously overlooked character from Greek mythology. I would caution anyone who wants to read this book that it does get a little dark at times, but these portions are vital to understanding Circe. Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Greek mythology or stories with a developing narrator.
