A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Mass is an adventure-filled fantasy romance book that picks up almost right after A Court Of Thorns and Roses left off. As Freye is dealing with the horrors of what she went through under the mountain, she must learn how to be who she has transformed into. A powerful immortal being with a mortal heart, in a world she knows very little about. As a greater evil looms, she navigates the politics and passion of her world. She might just be the key to stopping it, bringing peace to her new life but only if she can harness the gifts that made her reborn. Her future remains unclear but one thing is for sure, she decides how it is shaped.
This book is amazing. After the first book, I was undecided if I was going to continue reading the rest of the series, but thankfully I picked up the sequel to give it a try and it shatters the age-old stigma that sequels aren’t as good as the original. This book reminds me of almost a Princess Bride-like story but in a bigger broader world. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys books like Fourth Wing and even none fantasy readers. It’s a beautiful and skillfully written mix of both romance and adventure so there is a little bit of everything for everyone. I give this book 5 stars because to me it has everything you could want in a book and even more. I don’t like fantasy books and rarely pick them up but this book makes me want to keep reading not only the series but also the other spin-off series to these books the author has written.
