Crown of Midnight is the second installment of the Throne of Glass series. The second book picks up right where the first left off, and it gets even better. This novel follows Celaena as she navigates being the King’s Assassin and having to make hard decisions. Her relationships with Dorian and Chaol especially become a little rocky as she has to do things she isn’t proud of. A particularly difficult event leaves friendships strained, but Celaena has to push through to fight for what she believes in.
I love the second book in this series because we get to see even more of Celaena’s sassiness, and her relationship with Chaol is just precious (at least in the beginning!). Dorian remains supreme, and I will die on this hill. I love the plotline and character development in this book, and the ending will forever me one of my favorite plot twists in any book.
