The Cruel Prince by Holly Black is an entrancing book about finding your place. This fantasy adventure YA book tells the story of Jude Duarte, a 17 year old girl living in Elfhame, a faerie realm. Things are never easy for her as she navigates this new life, always shamed for being normal where normal wasn't normal. Jude Duarte hates being seen as inferior and all she wants to be is a knight so she can prove her worth. But when things take a turn, will she be willing to become something feared and unseen just to find her place in this fantasy world. How far will she go when she has to choose between power, morals and love? What will happen when everything she knows is taken away and she must make a choice that will affect all of Elfhame? Will she run or will she fight? This book had me captivated every step of the way. This is my favorite YA book and I love rereading it again and again. I would give it five out of five stars. It was really amazing and I would recommend to anyone who loves fantasy and adventure books with a strong female lead.
