“I rose too high, loved too hard, dared too much. I tried to grasp a star, overreached, and fell."

Everyone’s favorite Targaryen, Daenerys Targaryen finally sets her sights on Westeros after having become the Queen in the East. Westeros is plagued by unrest after a series of wars. Will they accept this newcomer who claims to be their savior, or turn her away? Everyone is split, which brings yet another war onto the horizon. What does that mean for the people who have barely just survived the last one?

The last book in the Song Of Ice And Fire series, this book unlocks countless new perspectives and storylines. While the next book in the series has yet to come out, this remains the closest thing to an ending for the series. It differs the most from the show, but I wouldn’t say that is necessarily a bad thing. As with all his other books, Martin really focuses on world-building and adding dimensions to all of his characters. An enjoyable read. I would warn the typical reader, to get to this book, there are several thousand pages to get to this point, and it can be a bit tedious at points. Still, the series remains a classic for a reason, and if you’ve got the time and patience I would recommend giving it a go.
