Summary: Dark Age by Pierce Brown is the fifth book in the Red Rising series, continuing the story of Darrow, a lowborn revolutionary fighting against a tyrannical society ruled by a color-coded hierarchy. Set in a future where humanity has colonized the solar system, the story explores into themes of power, betrayal, and the consequences of war. In Dark Age, alliances shift, betrayals accrue, and Darrow faces his greatest challenges as he navigates a world on the brink of collapse. With intense action, political intrigue, and compelling character development, Dark Age delivers a unique story.

Opinion: The most compelling aspect of Dark Age is the depth of its characters and the moral dilemmas they face. The author explores the complexities of human nature, painting his characters with shades of gray rather than black and white. You'll find yourself questioning allegiances, sympathizing with antagonists, and wrestling with the idea of what truly defines heroism in a world. The only disappointment I had was with how the plot twists were too unpredictable. They felt like they couldn’t be an option even after the book explained it. I would recommend Dark Age to fans of sci-fi and dystopian fiction who like intricate world-building, morally complex characters, and adrenaline-fueled action. If you're looking for a book that doesn’t have a line between good and evil, this book is perfect. I give this four out of five.
