Beatrice has only known to be a selfless person all of her life. She only looks in a mirror on occasion and always has to do the right thing. When she turns 16, this all changes. Beatrice can change her faction. She has to decide her future in the matter of seconds. This one decision choses her job, her friends, and almost every part of her life. What faction will she choose and how will she decide? It will change her life.
I loved this book! Divergent is a very intriguing dystopian novel that keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time you are reading. I really enjoyed how the author wrote about many aspects of Beatrice’s life and not just her initiation process. The way the romance was intertwined in the story was somewhat subtle but just enough. I would have enjoyed this book more if in the beginning it wasn’t as slow and hard to get into. Overall, I give this book 5 stars.
