Emilia is one of the most popular girls in the school and has a seemingly perfect life but what the others don’t know is that she is a member of one of the best eSports teams.
She wants to participate in the eSports competition that comes to her city with her team without anyone knowing. But, a member of another team and her childhood friend, Jake, recognizes her. They reconnect and get to know each other after a few hiccups. And then, they realize that they both like each other.
This book was refreshing due to its topic about female gamers as it is not as popular of a topic. Emilia’s struggle between her two worlds was interesting and showcased some character growth. I felt that Jake’s point of view could have been portrayed a bit better because it seemed like his thoughts were mostly about Emilia. I think this is a nice and cute YA romance for those who want something a little bit different than the stereotypes.
Overall, I give this a 4 out of 5 due to its interesting and different topic.
