Carrie Sinclair is telling her story of her summer 27 years ago on the Sinclair private
island. This is the summer that the boys come. The boys are Carrie’s friend’s
boyfriend's friends. When the boys get to the island Carrie suddenly finds Pfeff, one of
the boys, very interesting. Carrie and Pfeff start hanging out more and soon they are
much more than friends. Carrie’s sisters think Pfeff is not good for her, so what will
Carrie choose? Family or Pfeff?
This prequel to We Were Liars, was so much better than We Were Liars. The story was
easier to understand and follow, which made for a much more enjoyable read. I
really enjoyed how the book ended and I felt it was less sudden than We Were Liars. I
really liked the cover of this book, because it depicted what would eventually happen
in the book, without completely giving it away. I loved this book and overall, it was
really good. I would totally recommend it to anyone skeptical about We Were Liars but
still wanting to read E. Lockhart.
