“First rule of fight club. You do not talk about fight club”

This book follows the experiences of a man struggling with insomnia. His doctor suggests that he visits support groups, and he finds relief and that maybe his insomnia isn’t as bad as what he could have. Everything changes when he meets a girl at one of his groups, and soon after, a man named Tyler Durden, who forms a strong bond with the main character.

A lot of people, like my dad, are fans of the movie, but not necessarily the book, but I like taking things chronologically, so I started with the story. This dark, twisted book was a rollercoaster ride. Palahniuk’s imagination is remarkable and truly mind-bending, this is no simple book, capturing many aspects of the real world, although some are morally questionable. It felt similar to a fever dream with lots of weird and unnatural things happening, but at the same time it was very enjoyable. Fight Club offers a journey through the depths of human experience, weaving together dark themes and vivid imagination to create a narrative that is both unsettling and unforgettable.
