Fourth Wing is probably one of the best booktok recommendations out there. It follows twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengai. Violet has always wanted to become a scribe, but as the daughter of a general that is not an option for her. She has to become a dragon rider. The problem is she is small and what some people say “fragile”. Can Violet even make it through the trials and through people who hate her because of her mom? Specifically, the infamous Xaden Riorson who is one of the best riders. I guess you'll have to read to find out.
The only bad thing about this book is that it's a bit long, but that doesn't matter because when you start reading it you'll finish it in days. I will say though that this would probably be considered an adult book, but if you are mature you can read this. This book made me get out of my book slump within the first 100 pages. Rebecca Yarros knows how to make a new world and the best characters. I haven't read anything like this since Throne of Glass. The world-building is fantastic and it's hard to keep up sometimes, but still totally worth reading. There was a plot twist with every twist and turn in these pages. The ending makes you want to pick the second book right away. If It wasn't obvious this is a five-star read for me. I would highly recommend this book to young adults and teenagers who are getting close to becoming adults. There are some scenes and words in there that are definitely not for the younger side of book readers. If you love world-building and How to Train Your Dragon then this is the perfect book for you.
