I think this book is completely a classic and pretty well-known. It was funny to read the book and realize small misconceptions like how the creator of the monster was actually named Frankenstein. The story follows a Man named Victor Frankenstein as he delves into an experiment to create life, and once he does the monster follows him trying to win his love and attention, but Victor responds in fear and hatred. This causes the monster to follow Victor and torment his life. I really enjoyed this book. I was a little confused because the book starts off with a flashback, and it only really makes sense after you finish the book entirely. I really enjoyed the writing itself of the book, it had themes of 1800s gothic. The tale itself was also very interesting, I just think that I don't particularly enjoy horror books. Frankenstein did a phenomenal at displaying how people can be both perpetrators and victims at the same time, furthering the cycle of revenge and hate. I noticed that a lot of the themes that Frankenstein discusses are between the lines, it’s not like other classics that go into long monologues about some philosophy, which can be good depending on what you like to read. It wasn't a very difficult book to understand, but overall, the book was a good read.
