“I imagine it’s always easier to do something monstrous if you can convince yourself you aren’t going to, up to the last minute, until you do.”

Finally out of the horrible Schoolmance, and having destroyed it behind her, you’d think El would be thrilled. She can finally return to her yurt in Whales with her mother, and begin her dream of building gleaming enclaves all around the world. But she’s left behind the only thing that mattered, and how is she supposed to go on without him? Without the other half of her plan, she begins a ridiculous quest to save people, mainly to save her from herself. At every corner are the friends she’d saved the previous year, but will they be willing to put their allegiances aside during the middle of the largest enclave war of all time?

But what happens when maybe everything they left behind isn’t completely gone?

The final book in the Schoolmance trilogy, The Golden Enclaves, was enjoyable. Not as light or humorous as the previous instalments, but still definitely worth reading. It starts a bit dull, while El is still finding herself, but once that passes towards the end everything goes very quickly. So many twists and turns it actually got a bit difficult to follow, but there were certain reveals that were truly shocking.

If you enjoyed the previous books, check it out! Five out of Five Stars.
