A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson is a realistic fiction book about Pippa Fitz-Amobi, a young girl writing her senior project. She decides to write her project about a local murder that took place 5 years ago, using her senior project as an excuse to do her own investigation. Her goal is to prove the innocence of Sal, the alleged killer who was also found dead, and find out who really killed Andie, Sal’s girlfriend. Pippa, along with the help of Sal’s younger brother Ravi, conducts a thrilling investigation. Pippa tries to keep her investigation secret from everyone else, but someone finds out and tries to stop her from finding the truth. I loved this book because it constantly kept me on the edge of my seat. It had a slow start, but once Pippa gets going the author constantly introduces new characters and suspects that will keep you guessing. This book also definitely pulled on my heartstrings. It has complicated and dynamic relationships between the characters and some really heart wrenching moments.
