A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson has become one of my favorite books I’ve ever read; in fact, I would without hesitation put it on my “top 7” list. You may have heard of this novel from the TV show created recently. If you do plan to watch the show, I highly recommend you read this book first as the show tends to rush through some crucial parts of the entire plot. This murder mystery follows the life of a 17-year-old girl, Pip, who uncovers the mysterious past of her hometown. What starts as a school project turns into a web of lies, scandals, crimes, and murders. At first, I grew impatient with this book in the beginning because it seemed to progress very slowly; however, once all the pieces came together in the end, it was definitely worth the wait. Pip also has a love interest, making the book even more exciting to read! Overall, I rate this book 4.5 out of 5. Again, read it before the show!
