Jeff Kinney’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Hard Luck follows Greg Heffley as he deals with one of his biggest challenges yet—navigating middle school alone. With Rowley now focused on his new girlfriend, Greg is left struggling to make new friends and questioning if his luck will ever turn around. Desperate for answers, he even turns to a Magic 8-Ball to make his decisions. As always, Kinney’s storytelling is packed with laugh-out-loud moments and hilarious misfortunes making for a wildly entertaining read. Hard Luck perfectly captures the struggles of friendship, change and growing up in Greg’s usual sarcastic and clueless fashion. I really liked how Greg used a Magic 8-Ball to make his decisions because it made his situation even funnier and more ridiculous.
