The Hobbit follows the adventure of Bilbo Baggins, one of the many hobbits who live in the Shire. Bilbo is outside, smoking his pipe when he meets the famous wizard, Gandalf who then persuades/forces him to join the quest of the dwarves. On this quest they are trying to get their gold and homeland back from the treacherous dragon, Smaug. On the way to the Lonely Mountain, Bilbo and the dwarves face many foes and challenges. Bilbo learns to face his fears and tries to be a brave hobbit.

The Hobbit was an okay read in a way that it didn’t make me cry when some characters died. One thing I didn’t like was that it was hard to read, likely because it was written in the 20th century. However, I did enjoy the plot points and that the battle scene descriptions were vague, but still very cool. I would recommend this book to people who like fantasy and can understand complex language.
