Hotel Rwanda is a movie about the true story of Paul Rusesabagina, a hotel manager who protected refugees during the Rwandan genocide in 1994. The movie is about the events leading up to the genocide, as well as the violence and chaos that ensued. Rusesabagina uses his connections and resources to protect over a thousand refugees, risking his own life in the process. I watched this movie at school. I would not have normally watched it, but I liked it. Before watching the movie, I did not know anything about the violence that happens in Rwanda. I felt like the movie did a good job of depicting the events, and it was very realistic. I also liked that there were only a few main characters, so we were able to really understand them and their own personal struggles. I liked this movie, and I would recommend watching it, especially if you want to learn more about some of the violence that takes place in Rwanda.
