The House Across the Lake is a suspenseful thriller written by Riley Sager. This story follows Casey, who is a recently widowed ex-actress who is back in her family's lake house for an escape from her life. Across the dark lake is a huge house that is the new home to a glamorous couple, Katherine and Tom. One day as Casey is soaking in her grief she notices a body floating in the lake and quickly takes her boat out there to discover it is Katherine. After she saves her life she begins to hang out with the couple and notices some strange things. But, suddenly something changes. Casey and her neighbor wake up early in the morning to a scream and suddenly Katherine is gone without a word. Casey and her neighbor, Boone, begin to search for her and their top suspect in Tom. As they continue to search for Katherine strange things begin to happen on the lake. I really enjoyed this book and it was so hard to put down. This book was full of plot twists and the ending left me shocked. I would definitely recommend this book to people who love a good thriller book.
