The Housemaid by Frieda McFadden is a psychological thriller that follows the story of a newly hired housemaid named Millie. She begins her live-in housemaid job, but things quickly begin to go wrong. Her room has a lock on the outside, but not on the inside, leaving Millie feeling uneasy. Also, strange things begin to happen in her room at night. The people she works for make her job a living nightmare. As Millie's job in the Winchester household continues, she begins to question her decision of taking the job, but she can't leave. The book is full of plot twists, cliffhangers and secrets that kept me reading for hours. McFadden does a great job with the story pacing, plot, characters and keeping the reader constantly engaged until the end. I can't wait to read the rest of this series and I'm very excited to see how she continues this series.
