I Am Malala is an autobiography written by Malala Yousafzai. She wrote about her experience in Pakistan and the effect that the Taliban had on her, her family, and the society. In this book she details her childhood in Swat Valley, her struggle for education and the threats she and other girls who were willing to study faced from Taliban. Malala refused to listen to the ultimatum, so she spoke up and refused to not be silent about how she felt. She was shot in the head when she was fifteen years old on a bus because she was speaking out about not being able to have an education. She survived and after she recovered she kept on fighting for the right for girls to have an education in Pakistan. Malala won Pakistan's National Youth Peace Prize in 2011 for her courage.
I truly enjoyed the book. Knowing Malala's story made me admire her even though I’ve never met her. She is a role model for everyone. I would recommend it to just about anyone who likes a good read. This book is a must read by all those across the world to learn how important a family, friendship, culture, religion and government is for a normal human being to survive in some countries. I would rate this book 5 out of 5 and my opinion about this book is that it will engage readers much more than they think.
