I Am Malala: How One Girl Stood Up for Education and Changed the World is an incredible autobiography by Malala spreading her story and inspiration about her advocating for education for women and her fight against oppression. Malala grew up in Swat Valley Pakistan where her father was a principal at her school. She was very passionate about learning and getting an education. She loved it very much. When the Taliban came and slowly took over part of Pakistan including Swat Valley it was a very hard time. With constant threats, bombing, and oppression against women and families. The Taliban also made it a goal to ban women's education. The Taliban were also powered by The Radio Mulla who was a man speaking of all the other things that should be banned and shaming anyone who does not follow the new rules. Malala would not let this stop her from the education she deserved though so she went to school very secretly with a few of her classmates she also started writing and publishing her story anonymously so that other people would know what was going on. While this got many people's attention this also made her a huge target as an activist. At the age of 15, she got shot in the head by the Taliban. By a miracle, she survived as she got medical care in the UK.

This is a very empowering book showing the power of courage and the importance of education. This is a great inspirational book that anyone can read and gain insight from this book, readers who are also interested in human rights, social activism, and inspiring personal stories.
