This popular Tiktok book will bring you to tears. It follows Autumn, a high schooler who loves her boyfriend and has the best friend group. Except it's not perfect, there's someone always on Autumn's mind, and that is her childhood best friend Finn. Autumn and Finn are neighbors and their moms are best friends. They spent every single moment together when they were younger but something caused them to fall out of touch.
The main issue I have with this book is the main character. She is what I call a “pick-me” character. She makes annoying decisions and she tries to act differently. She wears crowns every single day and it's not even very important. How did I end up hating the main character and feel bad for the supposed “enemy”? Also throughout the booktok community, everyone has agreed that this book was written almost like a Wattpad story. Not only this but the ending was a bit rushed and just not what I was expecting. Although it was irritating at times, I enjoyed the plot. I am the type of person who likes sad books because of the emotion they give me. August 8th will now be such an important date for me, and if you read it you'll understand why. In the end, I would recommend this book to teenagers starting with reading. However, I would highly recommend similar books like All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven and so much more!
