The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes is about a girl, Avery Grambs, who inherits the majority of one of the richest men in Texas’s assets, Tobias Hawthrone. The catch: she has no idea who Mr. Hawthorne was, and this sparks her journey to find out how she is connected to him. One requirement for Avery in his will is to live with his existing family which includes his four teenage grandsons, and this turns her life upside down.
This mystery novel takes you through emotional twists and turns and lots of flirty tension, which makes you not want to ever put it down. One of the most intriguing parts of this novel for me was the constant guessing of what will happen next, and there are so many unexpected twists that kept me excited about reading it. Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone who likes mystery, teen romance, action, or even someone struggling to find a book that will really keep them hooked because this one will definitely do the trick.
