Being only a junior in high school, Avery Grambs has been through a lot. The tragic loss of her mother, her less than desirable father, and her half-sister’s boyfriend who doesn't seem to get the memo on how to treat a girl right; whilst living in her car to escape such frustrations, Avery is called to a will reading of not only a total stranger, but the one of the most wealthy in America; even more shockingly she inherits most of the fortune… but why? Grambs will have to follow a series of intertwining and complex puzzles to figure out this mystery whilst still being a high school student which only leads to more trouble. Grambs can’t control the wealth just yet, still this seemingly random act leaves her more than just famous, she’s in danger, she can’t trust anyone, and worst of all she’s stuck living with a set of brothers who have caught her eye.

The Inheritance Games is a must-read book! While maintaining a suspenseful fast-paced plot, Barnes cleverly weaves in some romance, some heartbreak, and something that just leaves you wanting more. By far this is one of the best YA books I’ve ever read. The story is told from one point-of-view allowing for a unique perspective that strays from the norm. This engaging book will have you wishing you were right there in the action. But be careful, if you pick this book up you may just not be able to put it down.
