Insurgent by Veronica Roth (Fiction) is the sequel to Divergent, and the second book in the Divergent series. It starts where the last book left off, war. Tris is now part of a war against the factions. Tris and Four have been on the run with others who have rebelled against the faction system in other factions. As they try to figure out a strategy, and what is the best situation for them. Tris has to go through all of this while coping with the deaths of her loved ones, and the guilt she feels from their last battle. Can they create a better alternative for everyone, or will everything go back to the way they were before?
Insurgent is a great book, except you shouldn’t read it until after you read Divergent. Personally, I like Divergent more, but this book is definitely the second best in the series. It delves into the factions we didn’t see first hand in Divergent, and shows different abilities of the people who are Divergent. It’s a thrilling story, with lots of twists and turns and I would definitely recommend it to anyone because it fits multiple categories of interests. So, if you want a thrilling read, pick up this book.
