Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare is a classic that I’m sure everyone knows about. This story revolves around Julius Caesar and the events leading up to his assassination. Despite his popularity, a group of conspirators, including Brutus, plot against him and carry out his murder. However, their actions set off a chain of tragic events, leading to civil war and their own downfalls.

Overall, I’d give this book a 4 because it’s a classic play that resonates with audiences today despite being centuries old. The themes of power, betrayal and ambition are why I love this play. Even though the book kept hinting at the tragic ending, I was holding out hope for a different outcome, but ultimately the conspirators’ actions led to their own destruction. The only part of the book I don’t like is the very beginning because I don’t like how slow it sets up. I do prefer this story to some of Shakespeare’s other works since this one is still more relevant to society today and the story is very interesting. The main thing that I like about this book is the conspiracy and the different views, as well as the behaviors of the characters which are fascinating to read. Overall, this play has timeless themes, beautiful language and complex characters. I absolutely love it and highly recommend that you read it to experience the depth and beauty of Shakespeare's writing and understand how relevant his language is even today.
