Twelve-year-old Sophie Foster lives in the normal human city of
San Francisco, but she is anything except normal. After she hit
her head at age five, she gained telepathic abilities, which
means she hears the thoughts of others. She became known as
a child prodigy, because she also gained a photographic
memory. But one day, a boy shows up, and takes her to a new
world, where she finds out that all the things humans thought
were fables and myths, are actually true. She discovers that she
is not actually human, but an elf. Through much trauma and
pain for Sophie, she is forced to say goodbye to her human
family and begin to live in the Lost Elven Cities.
What happens to her in the following months may seem
unbelievable, but for her it's all true. She meets animals that are
extinct in the human world, learns how to catch weather in a
vile, how to control her telepathy, and so much more!
Danger, adventure, sadness, joy-and a bit of middle school
drama- all piled together in this amazing story. I personally
loved this book, and I can't wait to continue the series!
