In the romance novel King of Wrath by Ana Huang, Dante Russo never wanted to marry, but the new-money Laus and their threat of blackmail force him to change his mind. Vivian Lau was determined to hate the marriage she’d been arranged to have, but there’s something about Dante that chips away at her cold demeanor. Though Dante is determined to have his revenge against the Laus who’ve wronged him, his and Vivian’s growing closeness and attraction complicates the plan.
I enjoyed most parts of this book, though Dante as a love interest felt very predictable and boring. Vivian was probably the best part of the book and one of my favorite female leads from Ana Huang’s novels. I think this series and Ana Huang’s books in general tend towards being very similar, very easy to read and enjoyable, and a nice break from more serious/depressing books someone might be reading. If that sounds like what you want right now, this is the book for you! I would give it four out of five stars.
