Amir and Hassan have spent their entire lives together. They grew up together and have always seemed to have a special connection. One thing separates them though. Their race and social classes have always created some issues between them. After a traumatizing event in Hassan’s life, Amir is left with immense guilt. Throughout Amir’s life he must come to terms with his guilt and do what he can to repay Hassan for his loyalty.
I loved this book. I fell in love with so many of the characters and they were able to make me feel so many emotions. The book kept me very enthralled because of the narrator and the debate of whether he was reliable or not. There was so much heartbreak in this book, but in the end I just ended up wanting the best for every character. This book definitely has very sensitive subjects, I would highly recommend looking up trigger warnings before reading this book. I would say it is best suited for people 15+. I rated this book 5/5 because it was genuinely one of the best books I’ve ever read.
