Kung Fu Panda 2 is an amazing sequel to the first movie with a good story, the part that makes this movie good is Po’s past which involves dark themes. The villain in this movie, Lord Shen is a very interesting character and a very similar one to the first movie but the direction of the movie and the animation makes him feel creepier and more of a threat. As the movie progresses it keeps getting darker and explores deeper themes that evokes strong emotions and holds relevance to the real world. The messages of the first movie are still applied in continuity in the second kung fu panda film and emphasizes destiny. Po really grows as a character in this movie and we really feel for him when he learns about his past. The second Kung Fu Panda film again finds a good balance in comedy and story, and has an amazing villain, making it an amazing film. I give it a 4.6 out of 5.
