Kung Fu Panda 3 was a major step down from the previous movies in the series. The story was not as deep or impactful and a major chunk of it was filler but it was an intentional aspect of the movie and felt required but did not serve the story well. The problem is that the villain did not receive a proper background and was not given the screen time to build up his character. His motives are also not as strong as the other villains in the series and is purely driven by power. The comedy is also not that good as it really tries to rub it in our face but the animations and sound design are just amazing which single-handedly pulls this movie from mediocre up to amazing. Like the previous movies it also has inspirational messages and real world aspects in it that make it a good film. I give it a 4.4 out of 5.
