Lord of the Flies is about a group of boys that get stuck on an island. They try to make rules and pick leaders, but they can't seem to maintain that structure. They start turning on each other and turning into savages. It shows how kids act when there's no grown-ups around and how people change when they are away from civilization.
I thought the book was a really cool way to demonstrate how people can change when one is around to see or there are no societal expectations to maintain. The descent into savagery, fighting for power and the evil within humanity are shown within the book. The book is recommended for fans of thrillers. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes stories that take dark turns, as this one has a lot of that.
