Lore, by Alexandra Bracken, takes place during the Agon, a hunt once every seven years where
Greek Gods are made mortal and hunted by mortal descendants of Greek heroes. When a god
is killed, the hunter who dealt the blow gains the powers of that god. Lore Perseous fled this life
long ago, after the death of her entire family. However, she’s drawn back in by Castor, a friend
long thought dead, and Athena, one of the last original gods who needs her help. Lore binds
herself to Athena in a deal that could help her get revenge for the loss of her family. To stop a
new god with immense power, Lore will have to face her demons to get vengeance. Lore was
an amazing main character, and many of the other characters were equally as enjoyable. Miles,
Lore’s friend, was a little bland to me, but that had little effect on my enjoyment of this book.
Lore was action-packed and felt original.
