Mean Girls is a film about a teenage girl named Cady, who had just moved to America from Africa. She is attending high school for the first time, as she had always been home-schooled before. At the beginning, she meets two true friends, Janice and Damian. These friends help her to understand the groupings that are set up in high school, and they warn her to not go near the “Plastics”, a group of popular girls at the school. Even though she is warned, she soon befriends the popular girls, specifically their leader, Regina George. They all start off by being extremely kind to her, but she later learns that they are truly mean. She creates a plan with Janice to get back at them, but slowly turns into them as well. Cady is faced with the choice of either sticking with her true friends, or becoming one of the “Plastics”. This is a hilarious movie that is incredibly relatable for all teenagers. It shows how people in high school are treated differently based on how they are perceived by others, but it also shows that they can all get along in the end. I love watching this movie whenever I need a laugh, or if I just want to watch a classic. I love this movie mainly because of the side-characters and their commentary. I recommend this movie to all teenage girls, so they have an idea of how to treat people in high school.
