Midnight Sun is an amazing book from a different perspective of Twilight. It reimagines the events of Twilight, offering readers a deeper look into the mind of the vampire. The story starts with Edward’s life as a vampire in Forks, Washington, where he lives with his adoptive vampire family, the Cullen’s. They live a “vegetarian” lifestyle, refraining from human blood and attempting to blend into the human world. Edward, however, struggles with his nature and feels like a monster. Everything changes when Bella Swan moves to Forks. From the moment Edward sees her in biology class, he has a powerful, dangerous desire- not just to know her, but to kill her, because her blood fascinates him. But his fascination with Bella quickly transforms into something more complex: love, protectiveness, and obsession.
I loved reading this book because it is emotionally rich. The author gives readers a full understanding of Edward’s character beyond. I love how Edward is constantly thinking about his morality and the danger he poses. The book also does a good job of expanding the universe of Twilight. We see more of the Cullen family through Edward’s perspective. We also understand more about Edward’s powers, particularly how he reads minds. I love how the book makes the romance feel stronger and more intense. Overall, this is a beautiful story that will keep readers on the edge of their seats. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys the Twilight series and romance books because it is an amazing combination of the two.
