Minions: The Rise of Gru is a good movie and is interesting to watch. The plot progresses quick, and the animation is fun to watch. The movie starts off, introducing the “Vicious 6” a group of legendary criminals who kick their leader Wild Knuckles. Looking for a new member, the criminal group hold interviews that turns disastrous for Gru and his minions as the Vicious 6 chase him down. This sets up for the story to take place in two simultaneous mini stories that show how the minion's journey develops and Gru’s journey of develops. During the duration of the movie, Gru’s story felt more sidelined, and the minions' storyline felt more like the main storyline, but both storylines were interesting to watch, nonetheless. The story was decent and simple with simple goals but helped make the movie more fun. Overall, the movie was interesting and good, the main appeal of the movie was how the minions were utilized, every aspect of what makes the minions iconic was utilized well and capitalized on. I give this movie a 3.5 out of 5 and recommend it to anyone who loves the Minions or loves watching animated movies.
