The movie Missing follows June, a high schooler living in LA. June’s dad unfortunately suffered a brain tumor while June was a child, so June’s mom has been taking care of her. June’s mom had recently gone on a vacation with her boyfriend, Kevin, to Colombia. Although it seems like Kevin and her mom are having a great time, when June goes to pick them up from the airport, they are nowhere to be found. Panicking, June contacts the police, but they struggle to find out what is happening. June realizes that it’s up to her to find her mom. Will June uncover the truth about her mother’s disappearance?
My rating for this movie is a 4/5. The suspense kept me super entertained during the entire movie, and the creativity June used to investigate the problem made me super excited about what was going to happen next. There were so many unexpected twists and turns throughout the movie and I was utterly shocked in the end. The characters were well-developed and I liked how each character had different views on the story. However, some parts of the movie felt unnecessary and made me feel bored. I would recommend this movie to any student in 7th grade or higher because some parts of the movie may seem scary to younger viewers.
