Summary: The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern is a magical realism novel that follows the lives of two young illusionists, Celia Bowen and Marco Alisdair, who are bound by a lifelong competition orchestrated by their mentors. The competition takes place within a mysterious and enchanting circus, Le Cirque des Rêves, which only opens at night and captivates its visitors with astonishing performances and fantastical wonders. As the circus travels around the world, Celia and Marco's rivalry evolves into a deep and complex love, complicating the nature of the competition. The narrative connects the lives of the circus performers, leading to a bittersweet resolution.

Opinion: The most compelling aspect for me was the vividly imaginative and atmospheric setting of the circus itself. The author’s descriptions made me feel like I was walking through the circus itself. I didn’t like the wide range of perspectives and how it challenged the main storyline. This book has to make you think about the main characters because of how many different secondary characters there are and how it can distract you from the main storyline. I also didn’t enjoy the emphasis on the atmosphere and mood and wished there was more action throughout the book. I’d recommend The Night Circus to anyone who loves fantasy, romance, and a touch of mystery. If you're a fan of immersive settings, this book is for you. It’s perfect for people who enjoy stories that prioritize emotions over fast-paced action. I give this book a three out of five.
